THE NEXT STAGE
BY:  Doc Calvinson

I read this wonderful book a couple of weeks ago and the stories from this book still pop into my mind.
It is a must read, not only for Blackmore’s Night fans and not only for anyone who has ever been on the road or in a band but for anyone who deals with people on a daily basis (this would be most of us, wouldn’t it).

First of all, it is such a well-written book.  The reader is able to follow the character’s thought process even while the character is saying something else.  You know “you think one thing – say another”.  It is very easy to follow the story line.  It is an easy read.

Second, I promise you will laugh out-loud.  Heed the warning, you may want to read in private or else people may start giving you strange looks as they notice you laughing at the book.

The book has no boring sections.  You won’t want to put it down until you are finished.  This is a book that will have you wishing the 2nd edition was already in print.  The stories and characters come to life and you find yourself rooting for them, laughing with them (O.K., sometimes at them) and applauding the outcomes.  You have a sense that you know these people.  Although all have been given fictitious names, the stories are stated to be true and after your introduction to each of these characters, you can believe that the stories are true!

This makes a great gift for the Holidays, Birthdays, or just to cheer someone up.  Buy your copy today and I promise you will enjoy!

In keeping with the gist of the book, I shall sign off,

Mark Sour

Some of the best music I have ever heard, don't come across much music anymore that has real talent. Did not know much about Richie Blackmore a genious when it comes to music, Candice Nights voice is very strong and clear just wanted to let you know that your music has touched someone here in America. Think Candice may be best singer around suprised she is not better known in US.

G&M from England - July 2006

My lords and ladies of Blackmores night - hello!

Wow, what a wonderful week it has been at our house - thanks to your superb
music and the 'dreadful' article in Classic Rock magazine. My wife and I
have always loved folk/celtic/rock music but there's just not enough of it
about! Inbetween listening to Jethro Tull and Loreena Mckennitt we have
always longed for a sound that merges the contemporary with the past in an
exciting, emotional and heartfelt way.

We didn't even know about your band until several days ago I read the
article in Classic Rock and thought ' well, the reviewer may not appreicate
that music but it sounds just up our street! (or down our cobbled lane!) and
I thought the whole concept about Blackmore's Night was worth investigating.
So, that day I ordered the Fires at Midnight CD and when it arrived we
were not disappointed! We heard the type of music that we have longed to
hear for many years!

The next day we ordered several of your CD's and the concert DVD and it has
been a thrill to lose ourselves in your timeless songs! Ritchie is the most
amazing guitar player and Candice's voice is angelic! It's the best music
we've ever heard - full of energy, fun and spirit, with amazing depth. And
you obviously really enjoy playing it!

Headed over to this site and see your playing Germany this year. Well,
we've never been to Germany but we are going this August! We booked our
rooms in Rothenburg and are at the moment trying to sort out our flights!
We are very excited to not only be going to see you guys but also going to
visit what looks like an amazing place.

So, thank you for your music! It's going to be a great year!

Just hope you guys are planning to stay together for many years ahead as we
seem to have found you quite awhile down the path...

Fayre thee well,

G&M from England

You may of course use this on your website, as we would like to publicly
herald our support for such worthy minstrels!

Agustin
from Madrid, Spain - July 2006

Hi Candice and Ritchie,

My name is Agustin, I am 52 and live in Madrid, Spain.

I am absolutely in love with your music, I have all your albums and also the DVD Castles and Dreams, which I enjoy so much watching.

My job makes me go to Frankfurt from time to time, but I am not sure whether I'll have to go at the end of July, which will be so convenient so that I could go to one of the places where you are touring in Germany. I would be so happy to have the chance to go! It would be so wonderful if you came to Spain for a tour as well, but that's something I don't dare even to hope.

Candice has such a sweet voice that I wonder whether it was merely luck that Ritchie found her or it was something that destiny had prepared so that all those who love music can say ' I was so lucky as to share my life with the nicest band of all times'.

My best wishes for you all,

Agustin.

Anthony (Tony Dio)
from Canada - June 2006
Hello, my name is Anthony (Or Tony Dio as everyone calls me) I live in
Canada and I had to write to tell how much I loved Blackmore's Night. I've
never heard anything like this before and I'm SO glad I found out about this
kind of music. I've always been a Rainbow fan (though I was only alive for
their last album "Stranger in us All", and even then I was only six (and at
that age, I could have cared less about music). I've always loved fantasy
and write a lot about it (currently I'm trying to write a book) so it was no
surprise that I loved Blackmore's night ever since I heard "Fires at
Midnight" (the first song I heard). Candice Night has the most beautiful
voice I have ever heard-combined with Ritchie Blackmore (my favorite
guitarist), and Fantasy, has pushed Black Sabbath out of the way to make
Blackmore's Night my favorite band ever. Keep up the good work, I hope you
come to Ottawa (Canada) someday.
Shine On
Tony Dio
ps; I would love to see this on the website, I'd be more than honoured if it
ended up in "Fan Comments".

Paul Weaver
from The United Kingdom - June 2006
Thank you to Paul Weaver (Head of UK Street Team)
for sending the following into blackmoresnight.com
....................

By the way I've had a listen to the Blackmore's Night CD and I have to say
this is one of the best albums he's made in years. Certainly a lot of folk
influence in the music, plus the occasional hint of Rainbow. 'Street of
Dreams' sounds a lot heavier than the original 1983 version Richie made
with Rainbow but an excellent version nevertheless.

Full marks for the wonderful album cover showing what appears to be an
Austrian village scene, brings back some memories of some of the holidays
I've had there. All I can say is the legend lives on.

Hi Paul

I just thought that I'd drop you a line to say that I had not forgotten
about your request to report back on the CD that you kindly gave me
recently. I was a little suspect about the name - and the fact that you
described it as folk rock. In the 60s I was more leaning to the Beatles
than the Stones.

However, I was very pleasantly surprised. It accompanied me in the car on
two moderately lengthy journeys and was played several times. That in
itself is praise since I can get bored with repeating music. As someone
who was a regular attender of pub based folk-nights and ceilidhs from
about 1970 I was impressed with the range of music contained on this disc.
I found myself being transported away from the UK at times and at others
to different periods of time. I was quite convinced that I was entering
the renaissance at one point.

The songs included stuff that I had never heard and a couple of old
favourites dressed in interesting new clothes - McColls' 'Streets of
London' comes to mind especially. The music was well executed and a
delight to hear and the singer was first class. I wish this group well.

John Orchard - 15th May

Hi Paul

Many thanks for giving me a copy of their latest CD – it’s fab. I have
played it over and over many times and I finally decided which are my
favourite tracks.

My first impressions were that all the tracks were excellent. The female
vocalist has a lovely voice and Ritchie’s guitar-playing is excellent of
course.

I can’t decide which is my absolute favourite track (toss up between
tracks 3, 11 and 14).

Anyway, I have rated the tracks from 4 stars (most favourite) to 1 star
(least favourite).

Have you ever met the gorgeous Ritchie Blackmore?

Next time you see him can you get me his autograph please????

Hi Ritchie Blackmore

My name is Eric Tamayo, I'm from Mexico City I don't like the haevy metal
anymore, your music is more interesting, your instrumentals are fantastic.

I have all your albums of Rainbow, my favorite rock band. The album Rainbow
rising is my favorite because the music is very powerful, your guitar and
the voice of James Dio are fantastic.

But now, your band Blackmore's Night is my favorite band, because the music
is very mistic, very fantastic, your compotitions make me feel so happy, so
sad, so nostalgic, so romantic, i love so much your renacentist music.

In Mexico I work in a production of TV. I play the guitar, my favorite
scales are the arabic, oriental, egyp and neoclasics scales. In Mexico there
are many constructions from The Spain Colony, The Castle of Chapultepec is
very intereting is my favorite place, but The MUNAL too.

Ritchie, tanks for exist, tanks for your music, tanks for make me belive
that I can to catch the Rainbow, tanks for take me away to your castles and
dreams, you know??? I love the Moon

Diane & Jim from Swansea UK - April 2006

Dear Ritchie and candice,
We managed to get your latest c.d from HMV ,before it went on display. (VILLAGE LANTERN) WOUNDERFUL,TOUCHING AND EMOTIONAL,GOING BACK TO ROOTS. We also loved the touch when Candice laugh's when the music comes back to to the minstrel music, (rainbow/deep purple) great. The cd has a mixture of the rock, then handled in the Minstrel way.
Keep well and Happy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
P.S Have you given his underwear back yet (why not) hee hee.
Lord Robert must be realy needing it now ! love Jim and Diane.++

Alexander from St Petersburg Russia - April 2006
Good evening, Dear Mr. Ritchie Blackmore, Ms. Candice Night and Blackmore's Night"!
This letter is directed to Mr. Ritchie Blackmore.
I am too far from great command of English, so I'm sorry if there any mistakes.
My name is Alexander, and I'm writing to You from St.-Petersburg, Russia.
Several years ago I could not even dream of writing to you, and, especially, to have an opportunity to receive the answer - and now I'm glad to do it owing to the guest book on your fine site.

You know, I feel very timid and can't find right words when appealing to You, Mr. Ritchie Blackmore.
I'm 18 years old, and I've been playing guitar since I was 10.
I have chosen Fender Stratocaster just because you play on this electric guitar.
Well, I hadn't even thought about imitating Your style like it was done by thousands of guitarists. Every One of us has his own course of life. It is your way which greatness I admire, but I should search my own...
In 60-90s there were many "star competitors" for You, and today there are many guitar heroes on covers of guitar magazines and on TV.
But+

When I have heard You playing guitar for the first time (it was 3 years ago), I was amazed! - and till now I am under huge impression, naturally! You have inspired me and Your magnificent songs made me spend days and nights without a break just playing guitar and trying to become a good guitarist! Without you, I would never understand, what the guitar and the music actually are!

- I only want to say that I'm deeply touched by Your songs and You will always remain my favourite Guitarist - The One Who made me believe in the Power of Music.
Thank You very much for it!! Your music is magnificent, and Your talent and feeling of a melody are absolutely amazing!!! I'd like to avoid using pompous phrases, but I'd like to tell You - no one among my teachers hadn't learnt me how to play guitars as good as You! I've learned so many f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c things just listening and playing your songs, melodies and solos.
Today it is fashionable to make some kind of cult from playing guitar and to play incredibly fast so as to show yourself as a so-called Virtuoso. Guitarists forget that they are Musicians first of all. But You - a guitarist with brilliant picking technique - always try to make pleasant melody. That's why, from my point of view, every Your song turns out to be a Masterpiece!

Today is a very special day+ Guess You know what I speak about April 14
I'm happy to congratulate You with Your Birth Day! I wish You a long, happy and healthy life!
Let the Sun and the Moon lead You on Your Minstrel's Way ! And let the Music sound!

I am very happy with that fact that I've already bought a ticket for Your future concert in Saint-Petersburg GCH Octyabrsky".
Well, I've never visited Your concerts so I'm looking forward to it with my heart sinking.

Thank You!
Well, I' m supposed to give a permission for You to post it all on Your fabulous web-site.
You may post my letter at the Fan Comments" section if You would like to.
It's clear that such Great Musician, Guitarist and Composer as Mr. Ritchie Blackmore is very-very busy personality
Thank You very-very-very much for Your Music!

G from England - March 2006
Just read makowskis review in classic rock, i was at the same gig and as an ex music journalist am able to say that for once in my life i disagree totally with his comments. I was never a Purple fan, but quite liked rainbow rising, much prefer Blackmores night. Dragged my husband along a rock drummer who despite his initial reservations actually really enjoyed the show. claire.

Stepane from France - March 2006
Hello Mister Blackmore and /Lady/ Night,
First: this is a message for Candice: My Daughter, Clara, wants to know
if if Sisters of the Moon are your sisters Too !? She is sure yes!
Second: from me (age 39): Always the same question, Are you going to
come in France for a show one of this days or never ? Can We hope this
again? Last I saw you was in 1995 (with Rainbow!), more than ten
years...Well every year we're sad to see you come back to your home
without just a little travel in France...
See you soon...?

Response:
Yes, We hope to perform in Paris in September.

Alisa from England - March 2006
Having read the recent article in Classic Rock I feel sufficiently incensed to comment. .... The article is comprised from old quotes made by Ritchie where emphasis is placed on Ritchie's over the top antics on stage and his tendency to destroy his strats when he was in Purple and Rainbow. The author then says he attended the Blackmore's Night concert at Aylesbury Town Hall but he only lasted three songs. Based on three songs be belives Ritchie to be "lost".

How can you write an unbiased article based on three songs? I was and still am a huge fan of Purple and Rainbow but times and people move on. I openly admit I only tried Blackmore's Night because of Ritchie, and it took more than one watching of the Castles & Dreams DVD to appreciate this new form of music (new to me anyway). I feel sorry for people like the author who cannot or will not try to broaden their musical tastes because how can you if you are not prepared to give something a go (and to me listening to three songs is not really trying). Further he makes fun of the members of the audience who dressed up (I suppose somehow it must socially acceptable for people to attend AC/DC concerts dressed in school uniform but not to dress in medieval costume).

This type of journalism is negative and does the author no favours - he comes across as having wrote this article out of sheer spite because he has been denied access to Ritchie for an interview since 2001.

I saw Blackmore's Night in Newcastle, England, in October 2005. And its true, this is not Purple or Rainbow and there is no madman Ritchie running around the stage like a lunatic, and for that I am pleased. The music of Blackmore's Night is different to that of Ritchie's past career and if you go to a Blackmore's Night concert expecting the Ritchie of the past then you are going to be sorely disappointed. If you go with an open mind then I am sure that most people would be very pleasantly surprised at what they find.

I hope to see Blackmore's Night in England again - please don't be put off by this type of article because it is meaningless rubbish.

One more thing - when I've had a grotty day at work its not Purple or Rainbow I reach for at the end of the day to make me relax, its Blackmore's Night. 20 minutes is all it takes to get rid of the stress of the day and I find myself a much happier and uplifted person after listening to this music.
Best wishes to all at Blackmore's Night

Nicolas from France - March 2006
Hello.
Excuse me for my english ..
I play guitar thanks to my father who is a fan of Deep Purple, Rainbow and now Blackmore's night. That's why I'would like to know if it's possible to show you in France. I think we have a lot of beautiful castles and villages for your concerts. Carcassonne, or Monestie ( "Pause Guitare". It's a little Festival in a beautiful village, near Toulouse) can be interesting places. And I wonder if you want to play Rainbow eyes. I' m sure that you can do a beautiful version with Blackmore's night.
Thanks for your work. Perhaps I will see you in France

Response:
We hope to perform in Paris on Sept 20 Please watch our site for more information

Raymond from Alabama - March 2006
JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU HI AND I LOVE THE SITE. I:VE BEEN LISTENING TO SOME OF THE NEW SONGS AND THERE GREAT. i PLAN ON GETTING THE NEW CD.
I'VE BEEN A FAN OF RITCHIE WHEN HE WAS IN DEEP PURPLE.

Igor from Israel - March 2006
Hi, my name is Igor, I'm from Israel.
I'm a big fan of Ritchie's music, and I have only one question:
Is he planning to give a concert in Israel any time soon?

Response:
We do not have all our touring schedule completed yet for this year-please watch the site for more touring locations

Todd from Florida - March 2006
Today I picked up the copy of this that I ordered from the music store. Having more beers than I should have on a weak night I realized I could not turn it off till the last encore was over. "Awesome" barely credits this DVD justly. Like many I'm a fan of Ritchie's from another time who discovered that his mastery of music combined with the beautiful voice of Candice and the skill of the other minstrels create magical songs that become as engrained as any from the past. Thank you all for creating this. I look forward to seeing it live.
Age: 50 in body, 25 in spirit

Tony from So Africa - March 2006
Dear Richie and Candice,
Thank you so very much from a 57 year old I've long wanted to revisit our past with it's magic and simplicity and you have brought it to us, your millions of fans, through your wonderful rendering of musical images. Bless you and stay forever in contact with the inner realm from where your gift comes.
Thank you again..

From April from MI - March 2006
Just writing to say how much I love the music of Blackmore's Night! I love it so much in fact I bought numerous cds at my local renaissance faire, and my fiance and I are playing a bunch of blackmore's night songs before our wedding starts, and for the two songs we play as my bridesmaids and I are walking down the isle are "Once In a Million Years" for the bridesmaids and "Waiting Just For You" for the song I walk down the isle too. The music is just so wonderful that I cannot think of having a medieval themed wedding and not playing Blackmore's Night music. I will send a picture after the wedding takes place. Cheers!

Serra from MI - February 2006
have got to be one of your biggest fans! I love your music so much! I live in a small town so its hard to find your Cds anywhere! I've been lucky to find four of your Cds. under a violet moon, Ghost of a rose, Shadow of the moon and Fires at Midnight (I just got it earlier today and I've listened to it repeatedly ever since.). But I'm trying to get them all. So far I've memorized every single one of your songs (the ones with words anyway ^__^ ) and my little cousin and I sing them together all the time for our grandmother, she really likes it.

The words you use and the way you write your songs are so magical and Soothing. I love just sitting there listening for hours while I draw. I especially love Avalon. I can so see the scene where they're sitting there watching fireflies as they hold each others hand. I'm going to draw you a picture of that scene one day. and when I do, I'll send it to you.

I'm also working on finding concert tickets. I would be in HEAVEN if saw one of your concerts. and of course I'd have to drag my friend and lil cousin with me, they love you too.

This would go in fan comments wouldnt it? You have permission to do what you want with it. But I seriously LOVE you guys. Candice you're so beautiful and you have the voice of an angel! PLEASE keep singing and being yourselves!! I LOVE YOU!! <3 <3 <3

Cindy from Spring Valley California - February 2006
When is Blackmores Night coming back to San Diego Ca? My hubby and I
really want you guys to come back!!!!!
Please?????????!!!:)

Melissa from Heidelberg - February 2006
Dear greatest band of the world!

I am a 19-year-old fan from Heidelberg in Germany who is totally impressed,
surrounded and magically touched by your enchanting music. I think there are
only few songs I do not know by heart. I just feel so connected to every
single word, every single melody, every single message sent in each song.
And so many songs remind me of something in my life. My first album was the
live-album "past time with good company" and especially the songs "home
again", "renessaince fair", "fires at midnight" and, most important for me,
"still remember" remind me and touch me very much because of this book
series from Diana Gabaldon, I don't know, if you are familiar but it really
sounds somehow as if those songs were written for the books. Or the books
were written while listening to your music ;-)?

Well, I could spent hours with saying positive things about you. I really
hope that I will see you in concert sometime because it would make me so so
so happy. By the way: Heidelberg has a very famous and beautiful castle,
too!! But what I wanted to ask you after all is what the meaning of
"Malageña" is. I've searched all over on google and haven't really found
something, except in Spanish and my Spanish is not that good yet.

I should come to an end, I guess you have tons of E-Mails a day and I don't
want to waste your time! I really really love your music and hope you'll
never stop being as you are!

Greetings from romantic Heidelberg and best wishes and regards,

Alex from Chicago - February 2006

Phil from Florida - January 2006
I began listening to Ritchie with Deep Purple In Rock. I had 32 speakers in my bedroom in 1969 and after school we would get buzzed and sit down and listen to Child In Time....classic hard driving rock....the kinda stuff kids could only dream of today. I knew Ritchie was no longer with them(forever, I know) and I REALLY did not know his music of late. I stumbled on his website and listened. I KNOW GOOD MUSIC ! I listened to Shadow of the Moon live and was quite impressed. I just bought the collection on your website. And probably will buy more. Very nice..and new to me..Can I ever expect to see them in person..Fort Lauderdale's my home... Keep on Keepin' on...Peace

Mineko from Osaka, Japan - January 2006
I send a fan email for the first time.

I went to a concert of the Blackmore's Night and, in Osaka Sankei hall, have become a fan more and more in the last few years.
I feel positive when I hear a singing voice of Candice, a guitar play of Richie when I feel negative- this is like having taken magic.

I still support you all the time all the time. In addition, please give more concerts in Japan!

Tom from California - January 2006
Ritchie, Candice, and the Minstrels,

Thank you so much for a wonderful DVD concert. Very well done. Adding Des Geyers for the two songs at the end was a such a pleasure to see and hear - real goose bump time!
I love the DVD and am giving several as gifts this Christmas. I haven't been this excited about a musical group since...........I can't remember!

Best wishes for the holidays to you, Ritchie, Candice, and the Minstrels.

Joe and Barbara from NJ - January 2006
My boyfriend (Joe - 46) and I (Barbara - 49) are from the USA. We just saw your concert on Friday December 9, 2005 in Lakewood NJ. It was absolutely fantastic. We are looking forward to your new CD in 2006. We would love to see you do more shows in the NJ area. We would come to every one!!!!! The Strand Theatre in Lakewood was a great spot. I don't think there is a bad seat in the entire theatre. This can be posted in either the Fan Comments or Concert Reviews. We just can say enough how much we enjoyed the show and your CD/DVD'.

Paul from New jersey - January 2006
Regarding Scottish Rite show Dec 10 2005
As a long time fan of Ritchies music i would like to comment on the show that night. I was seated in the front row stage left so i could sense that it was not to be that night. First off i heard the guard telling some of the fans not to use their cell phones during the show to take pictures... just sit back and enjoy his brillance on the guitar. I feel cheated from seeing a show i have waited a long time to see. I purchased your dvd castles & dreams and this will probably be the only footage Iwill see in this area for a long time. oh and to the guy in the crowd who ruined it for all of us. Ritchie was playing if you just would have listened.

Griff from Collingswood NJ - January 2006
Greetings,
I attended your show at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood NJ last night and I must say it was a pleasent surprise. I was unfamilliar with your newer material (post 80's) and I must say I am impressed. I have been a long time fan of Deep Purple and Rainbo and prog rock and classical music. I am a 47 year old keyboardist/ songwriter so i appreciate great music and musicianship and Blackmore's Night is chocked full of both. Needless to say I purchased your DVD set and look forward to owning all of your cd's. I am starving for great new music in an artistically challenged age and it is inspiring to hear yours. Thanks for not selling out to the evil barons that present disposable to the masses. You brought a wonderful gift of song to us in Collingswood this holiday season. Here's wishing you all safety, magic and yuletide cheer.
Please feel free to this letter or any part of it on your website

Dee from Connecticut - January 2006

Hello Hello!
And thank you for a wonderful Christmas concert! Actually, we agreed it was the best one we've ever seen! ( We've been to 4 in the last two years, and of course, wishing there were more :) )

Jim from Bishop Auckland England - December 2005
Having spent this year re-discovering the playing of Ritchie and getting to grips with Blackmore's Night I went to the Newcastle concert with my fiance and we both came away knowing we had witnessed something special.

The sound was superb, to see Ritchie dance around the fretboard and hear the most wonderful playing, watching the joy on both Ritchies and Candice's faces was something to remember.

Bekz - December 2005
Hello

I have to say that the music is fantastic. My brother introduced me to blackmoor's night because I had only rubbish CD's. My favourite out of the ones I have heard which are all on Ghoust Of A Rose I Cartosh because the singing is brilliant and the guitar work is also magnificant.

I now a big fan of Blackmoor's night and I and a HUGE fan.

Den From Russia - December 2005
I’m Den from Russia. I like your music so much. Thank you guys, this music gives me so much pleasure!!!Blackmore, you are the best even after Deep Purple and Rainbow! Candice, your voice is so beautiful, I have no words to explain it! Sorry for my English, it’s not very good! Merry Christmas, but here, in Russia, we usually say “Happy New Year!”. Best wishes, Den from Samara, Russia.

Jimmy from Ireland - December 2005
Dear Carole, Ritchie and Candice,
Thank you all for a great night in Edinburgh 25th October 2005. I had travelled over from Ireland, and was trilled to bits to see Blackmores Night. It was fantastic to meet you Carole, to meet Ritchie and Candice made it an unbelievable night. You all very gracious people. I have added a couple of pictures of me meeting Ritchie and Candice. Thank you again, and please come and visit N.Ireland, and check our Castles.

Warm regards,
Jimmy

Hail, I'm a big fan of Blackmore's Night. The band is just perfect. Everything in the musics is so clean and perfect, and everything flows so well, that in the first time I heard I said: This isn't true!

Well, do you have intentions to come here in Brazil? I would love it. Not with the same musical genre, but this year (2005), some great bands have singed here. It was the best year for music here. But, if you do a show here, please sing here in Minas Gerais too, because I can't go to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.

Hmm that's it, a simple and great tip/comment that would please me and a lot of friends. See you here!

Hi folks,
just thought I had to write and let you all know how much my friend and I enjoyed your concert at Aylesbury on Samhein 2005. My friend and mentor and myself travelled to Aylesbury from London in full medieval costume which I made cloaked against the inclement weather. Never having been to Aylesbury before it was quite an adventure for both of us, I had earlier that month introduced your wonderful music to my friend and she was eagerly awaiting seeing you live and dear friends you did not disappoint in the slightest. We were seated up on the right hand stage and had an excellent vantage point, the duo of clerics and dandified gents in our row were most effusive in their compliments on our gowns, lol.

As the intro began I felt the power race around the assembled audience and the cheering erupted with enthusiasm and well deserved praise for you wonderful minstrels. Candices' comments about "I here the witches are with us tonight" made us both chuckle , you don't know how right you were sweet songstress. One can only marvel at the sheer entertainment value provided by your good selves and the whole concert was indeed one big party. The time flew past as we became enchanted by your web of sweet ballads, humour, good fellowship and spine tingling accoustics from the maestro, or should I say from all of the virtuoso performers who graced the stage that night. We missed our last train back to London but very kindly another fan offered us a lift back in his car with him and his girlfriend providing we would wait with them in their car at the stage door . We did grateful to be able to return to London for the remainder of the night and our rituals which awaited completion.Sorry Sir Robert that I did not have a pen to provide you with my e.mail address but was grateful for the oppertunity to tell you in person how much I had enjoyed the concert. We finally arrived back home circa 02 30 a.m. and after a most amazing and productive night the wonderful shining energy you all produced fuelled our Samhein Ritual to a wonderful conclusion to a perfect evening. Thankl you all , come back soon , we miss you already. May McLachlan and Sami Randsxx

It will never be overstated, how much people, including me, love Ritchie and Candice for their music and their attitude to life and to people who adore their work(fans), and how thankful we are to them for being on this Earth at this time and gifting us with their music and attention!

My question is if there's any chance that they will come to Texas
(Dallas?) or some other closer place in the USA? I talked to many people, and we all miss having them here. If volonteers are needed for arrangements here, we can gladly help! Sometimes answers to such questions as mine are posted, so I very much hope to get answer to my question.

Thank you very much!

Greetings,
I'm a big fan of the music that you do, and my sweet lady and I have attended a number of the concerts in the NY area.I am a working musician and I was doing a session at a Long Island studio and I had the privilege of being in the studio when some of the engineering and mixing was being done from one of your live performances. We all know what a world class guitarist / musician that Richie is and we all have fallen in love with Candace's voice and performances. I heard an isolation track of Candace singing, live and I was amazed. I've worked with a lot of singers and most of them don't sound that good when isolated from a live track. She was clear, beautiful and never missed a note. She didn't slide into a note the way some singers do, she was just ON. It was a pleasure Bravo! We have our tickets for the December 8th performance in NY and we are looking forward to it. Just keep that great music coming. We love it.

Dear Ritchie and Candice

Having heard the mini Christmas CD accompanying Beyond the Sunset, I wondered if you had ever thought of producing an album with all the old carols and songs from centuries back, in true medieval style. I just love your arrangement of O Come, O come Emmanuel (which is a great favourite advent hymn of mine), and We Three Kings, and thought that to have an entire album of material like that would really convey the Christmas spirit of old.

I do so enjoy your music and look forward to seeing you on your next European tour. Lots of love to you and the rest of the band and I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and New Year.

Bekz from USA - December 2005
I have to say that the music is fantastic. My brother introduced me to blackmoor's night because I had only rubbish CD's. My favourite out of the ones I have heard which are all on Ghoust Of A Rose I Cartosh because the singing is brilliant and the guitar work is also magnificant.

I now a big fan of Blackmoor's night and I and a HUGE fan.

Love bekz

Greeting,

About a year or 2 ago, at our Beltaine Festival here in Salem, MA we were given a Blackmore's night promo C.D. My wife of course was who is this band?

So she popped in the promo CD in to the car played and played it.
We became and instant fans, we both fell in love with the music.
Our words, "Now that is music!"

We recently purchased the DVD Castle and Dreams and I have to say the whole family was spell-bound. Between the beautiful voice / lyrics of Candice, the Guitar playing of Richie, the beautiful harmonies of the Sisters of the Moon, and the fantasic playing of the rest of the band, every song we have heard is just beautiful.

Blackmore's Night is a wonderful, long awaited and refreshing change from all the music that is out there today.

I have been following the guitar of Mr. Blackmore since the I first heard the song HUSH and I have been amazed by his guitar playing skills. Deep Purple got my interest in playing music. I have to say now ever since I have heard the CD, Blackmore's night has me hooked.

I have recently started our own small ren type instrumental band here just for fun.
With bagpipes, flutes, drums and guitars. It's very enjoyable!

We were also wondering if you had any plans to play the Boston area, perhaps the Hammond Castle? You know have a huge fan base hear that would love to hear you live. If I build a Castle, will they come? 8)

You music had truly touched our very soul.

Thank you all for sharing with us your gift of music, we truly enjoy it!

In love and Light!
H.P. Bercilak

Nobby from Germany - October 2005
Night of the desires

It was an cold mid winters night. I started from Memmingen and was on my way to mandalay.
I was in thoughts and nur eine Minute( only one minute ), i still remember because of the time with you.
About our Spanish nights ( I remember it well )…
You were my Queen for a day and I your Soldier of fortune. Oh my god, wish you were here!
Now and then you live your own life.
Is there no second chance for us ? My hope still stay’s on !
Suddenly, of one second on the other one, a tempest, a storm breaks in here over me.
In the shadow of the moon, I saw 3 black crows are sitting on a hanging tree and all around me changes in a Magical world.
I was fascinated, because all reminded me at stories of Avalon.
Now I´am walking under a violet moon !
In the distance I saw a Village on the sand and a building, it looks like an Ivory tower.
I approached curiously, on the village square I saw strangely dressed humans.
Noblemen, knights, Magier and young women danced to a celestially beautiful music.
Someone called with loud voice: the clock ticks on, ignite the fires at midnight and dance the Mond Tanz ( moon dance ) for the crowning of the king.
I felt as if I would home have come.
A young girl brought me a glass with dandelion wine.. it tasted like honey, or better …
I heard a noise beside me and saw into the face of an old man with friendly eyes.
You hear the Wind in the willows, he ask me ?
I believe I´m dreaming, I answers.
He smiles and said, dreams are the fool´s gold my friend, take me by the hand and led me into the Minstrel hall, and I heard to call again and again: play minstrel play!
There many humans and they all looked at me and I heard the voice of the old man as from far distance: They all are waiting just for you, … for a long time !
You home again!
In the middle of the hall stood an altar with a beautiful black rose.
From the rose a celestially beautiful woman and I floated heard her say: I am the Ghost of a rose.
She saw my disbelieving face expression … yes, she said : that’s all because of you.
Your love, your hope aroused us again to the life. Please stay and be mine tonight,
thus humans will remember ours in their dreams and their songs.
Life´s like Diamonds and Rust, … the songs are the Diamonds …
No one knows, where are we going from here … then …
We sang and danced the whole night, the time stood quietly... then completely suddenly were all away … gone with the wind !
I saw the Morning star, beyond the sunset …
I don´t know if that all was real or unreal.
But one is certain, I will find it again someday.

The End

Sandy from England - October 2005

I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing your concert at Amsterdam last Friday 14th Oct.
I was visiting a friend and he had booked the tickets a while ago, and thinking I was sure to like it, arranged one for me as well. My admiration for Ritchie also goes back many years to Deep Purple and Rainbow days but I had not seen Ritchie in this particular genre before and I was transfixed - it was so fantastic! How clever of you both! I had duly dressed up and immediately felt transported to medieval days!

So a big thank you for such pleasure. I live in Brighton, England and unfortunately your British concerts do not come too near here but I'm sure it will happen again one of these days...

with love and thanks
Sandy

Dear Richie, Candice, and the rest of Blackmore's Night,
I just received my copy of Castles & Dreams---WOW!! Thank you, thank you! It has been one of the most enjoyable DVD's that I have ever seen.

Alan from South Africa - October 2005
We really enjoyed the 9 shows that we saw this year , and for the first time I have to say that the sound quality was absolutely magnificent..... much better than ever before.

Reina from Mexico City - October 2005
Hi, I have some friends in Europe and I asked them to send me the Castles... DVD, it´s quite fabulous! It´s one of the best music works I´ve ever seen. I hope this music will last long as the musicians are so extraordinaire. Best greetings for all.

Chris & Elaine ( & Shadow, Xena & Oz ) from England - October 2005
Why can't Ritchie & Candice do more gigs in the UK. Saw them at Cambridge about 2 Years ago & that was 80 Miles away, this Year the nearest is Aylesbury & its too far to get to. Why not Colchester or Ipswich ?

Great DVD but then that's what I expected by the Worlds No1 Guitarist.
Chris & Elaine,
( & Shadow, Xena & Oz ).

We have over a thousand emails from our fantastic fans all over England asking when we can get back to their areas. We wish we could cover it all but our time frame was very limited on this run.

We really appreciate the love and devotion you have shown Blackmore's Night and we will try to get to your areas in 2006 after the release of Village Lanterne.

Michael from Switzerland - September 2005
Hi to
.. Candice (I hope)
.. Ritchie (I hope too)
or anybody else of the band

I would like to thank you for the Concert in Kranichfeld. It was a very
special event and means a lot to me. I was coming from Zurich, Switzerland
all the long way up to Kranichfeld (550km, 6.5h) just to see you there. Your
performance was every km worth.

This concert in Kranichfeld even compensate the not very nice Concert from
last year in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. I know, it was not your fault, but it was
not a concert to recommend. Maybe you remember.

But back to the good one. Its really amazing how the voice and presence of
Candice works with the performance of all of your other band members. All
fits together and makes it to a very nice music event. You have my deep
respect, especially Candice.

I hope I will see you soon on a Show in Switzerland.

Many thanks, again
Michael

btw: We have a lot of Castles too (not only Germany)... :-)

I just wanted to tell RB that as a drummer/percussionist for over 30 years, and now a fledgling guitarist for the past 8 (so I could get into writing and recording), he has been a tremendous inspiration to me lately. I have always been a fan of his far more than a DP fan, and after recently viewing a Rainbow concert from Munich '77, I must
say that I am a bigger fan than ever. And I love BN, I hope that I get a chance to see them live in the future and get the DVD when it's released in the states. Ritchie is truly one of a handful of the very best, and I'm scouring EBAY to find one of the Signature Strats...it looks like they aren't producing them any longer. To close, I look forward to new BM and thanks for such a rich catalog of great music over the last 30+ years (Machine Head was one of the first LPs that I bought !!!), I can remember it's release, ...I wasn't even 10 years old, but I was already playing trumpet and snare drum.

DVD...................totally fantasic. It comes out of dvd player only to put on a BN cd.
Must have played it 4 times already, only had it 2 weeks. One question, what colour are Cadice's eyes?. Only in some songs there Brown & others there Blue. Does it have any thing to do with German TV?. As l know they like blonde hair blue eyes.
Getting very, very excited as my best friend & l are going to see them in Oct, when they come to the UK.
Thanks again for a FAB dvd.
Blessed Be
Poppy

Hi.
Have Just been checking your website
I`ve been a Richie fan for years - no one can touch his live solo on Made in Japan - Highway Star
You are truly great together
Your voice blows me away - I`ll have all the Blackmore Knight Albums in my collection.
I was worried that Richie might have just faded away, but after listening to the audio tracks on

Greetings from Croatia! from Dario
The magic of Blackmore's Night has reached us several years ago and since then we are following the band wherever we can and as much as our financial situation allows us. We were lucky to get a couple of tickets for the last concert of the German tour this year, Munich. I must say that the atmosphere there surpassed anything we had seen before and sparked again the eternal question... Is there a chance for our favorite band of minstrels to visit Croatia some day? Our country is old. First king was crowned in 925 AD and our countryside is rich in old castles, beautiful nature and a feeling of times long past. I can send you some links to our famous castles and old towns such as Trakoscan or Ozalj. There is a popular colosseum like arena in the city of Pula which saw many international musicians in last ten years.
Watching the DVD and seeing at last how Candice and Ritchie felt, I gained a whole new perspective of them and of course Carole, their manager whose eyes showed the genuine passion for her work and pleasure of seeing joy in all the fans... I am now asking that all of you consider giving this special magical joy to our Croatian fans, many of who can't afford to travel abroad to see the band play live.
Thank you for your time and may you continue creating such wonderful events for many years to come!

David & Maria from Australia - August 2005
Susanne was such a great help and we finally made it to the Klaffenbach concert on July 23
It was a long way to go to see only one concert (20 hours flying time), but it was well worth it.
A fantastic way to spend my 50th birthday.
We met Susanne and Rainer Klos at the castle and spent the day with them
They made us part of everything that went on and feel so welcome.
The concert was wonderful beyond our expectations.
We unfortunately did not get to meet the great man himself, but I guess everyone wants his time.
Candice did touch my hand and I have not washed it since...giggle.
We watched the DVD last night and relived the day...........

Thank you once again.
