I finally made it to a Blackmore's Night concert. At last.

I travelled with a few colleagues and a couple of friends from Cologne to Aachen's Burg Wilhelmstein 6th July. My expectations were high having read a number of reviews here on this site, but all these expectations were due to be blown away. I was flabberghasted in the best possible way. The preformance of the whole band was simply brilliant. One of the most enjoyable concerts of have been to lately. The performances of our two favourite minstrels were of course out of this world. Candice's voice was spectacular. A beautiful but also strong voice that enthralled me and the audience. Ritchie seemed to be having a ball and his playing was amazing (I am beginning to run out of superlatives here).

The setting of an amphitheater facing the old castle wall went down great and before you knew it you were in the 16th century along with BN's music. The only real set back was that the weather played up a couple of times with the odd shower, but this didn't seem to drown anybody's delight.

I can't name every track played, but the new songs from the current release went down very well. I especially liked the tilte track from their new CD Ghost of a Rose, which is spectatcular and their best yet, which I would have thought difficult.

I can highly recommend going to a BN concert and I will certainly see to it that I get to see them as often as I can in the future.

Hi Candice, hi Ritchie,

the concert yesterday in Glauchau was great (we sat in the third row) :-) I came with my wife and my thirteen year old (young) daughter, who is a big big fan of you and she knows all lyrics of your songs! Our daughter Annika was very lucky to get your signatures on our 4 albums.

But we missed many of the calmer songs like Ocean Gipsy, Wish you were here, Benzai-Ten, Hanging Tree, Greensleves and so on.

We would wish more of these songs in your concert tour next year (so we hope you will do).
