BLACKMORES NIGHT
Review: Charlotte NC, 25th October
Charlotte exploded with a very enthusiastic crowd from the Charlotte
area as well a many guests from all over the US. StreetTeam was out
in force -- but the crowd was ready anyway. Setlist is similar to
the others, just got a surprise of Loreley - which I do not believe
has
been played in the states before. (It is frequently played in
Europe)
There was much talking between songs. It lasted probably 5 minutes
between the first two songs. Thomas and Albert opened up a again -
Great as usual.
Ariel was on fire.... and speaking of
fire, Lady Melissa from CT got
to introduce Fires At Midight! Great time meeting all of you pre and
post show! Thanks again to Jim for arranging. Next stop the Big
Apple!

Thanks for the wonderful concert last night (December 8, 2005) at
the NY Society for Ethical Culture hall. This is our third time
seeing the band (previously we were at the shows at Westbury Music
Fair and the Patchogue Theater) and it just gets better and better.
The music of course is terrific but the warmth and fun that just
exudes from Candice (and even Ritchie this time!) just seems to
grow as time goes on. Coming from a family of classical musicians
I am always enthralled at hearing some of the instruments that are
used, and at the skills displayed by the band members.
We also enjoyed The Geyers. Each time we have seen Blackmore's Night,
we have been introduced to wonderful new music. The first time it
was Wyndfall, who I still listen to on their CD's. The Geyers were
entertaining and very talented, and obviously you enjoy them as
much as we did.
Thanks again for all your work on this 'project' and we look forward
to seeing more of you in the future. As a fellow Long Islander I
will hope that you play more in our area, possibly including some
of the unique small venues we have right on the Island.

Hello,
I am sending a million thanks for Blackmores Night for wonderful
concert in
Schloss Tambach!
I travelled from Finland to Frankfurt Hahn Airport
rented a Jeep there,
drove 425 kilometers both ways to see my favourite band and it was
very well
worthwhile.
The band was playing so well that evening. Of course
Candice was the Lady of
the Evening there. And Ritchie's playing inspired me so much. Even
to the
point that I bought a Strat for myself.
I was not able to attend rest of the tour and for
sure I missed a lot. But
one is better than nothing.
I would really like to see you guys in Finland again
as soon as possible.
And if there is anything I can do to help/support/promote Blackmore's
Night
here, pls let me know. I would be truly honored.
Please do send my greetings to Candice and Ritchie!
Positively sincerely,
Kimi

I am 51 years old. Attending your concert in Las Vegas reminded
me of my teenage years when we would pool our money together for
gas and cover charge to see some of our now famous local bands,
namely ZZ Top and Johnny Winter. The informal conversation you had
with the audience gave the concert an intimate atmosphere which
only enhanced my enjoyment.
Thanks again for a wonderful evening.

My wife and I attended the Las Vegas show and it was just as incredible
as the Chicago performance we attended on Sept, 25th 2004. We loved
the different versions of Writing On The Wall & I Still Remember.
If we didn't have kids we would be flying to every show, and we
don't like to fly. Ritchie and Candice seemed alot more playful
at the Vegas concert, I think Candice brings out the best in Ritchie,
he has evolved musically in my opinion. We came to Vegas dressed
in full medieval garb and we were the first in line so they upgraded
us to special seating right in front row. We have listened to Ritchie's
music for the last twenty six years and we really have enjoyed how
up close and personal the concerts have become. We have turned many
people on to Blackmore's Night including our Castle builder. It
is our dream to some day have Blackmore's Night perform at our Castle(Castle
Chalon). We also wanted to give special thanks to Candice for singing
her heart out at the Chicago show, we knew she had an upper respiratory
infection and had to seek medical attention afterwards. Candice
that showed us that you give it your all to the fans. We look forward
to having you perform at Castle Chalon in a couple years.

I had such a great time!! What a treat to see Richie Blackmore again,
I haven't seen him in concert since 1985 when he rejoined Deep Purple.Blackmore's
Night was a great show! Candice sings and looks like an Angel, I
think every guy in the audiance feel in love with her, including
myself.
Thank you Richie and Candice, I hope you will return soon to the
Grove,Im
looking forward to seeing you again.

We flew into Vegas from North Idaho. Ran into a few of the
folks we met at the Chicago show in Sept. The House of Blues had
a few rules that weren't much fun (no cameras - so they could sell
you photos, no tankards, etc. ) but we persevered.
We all enjoyed the show so much. Though we love your recordings,
hearing and seeing you in person is great fun (so is dressing up!).
Your opening act (Owen) was great and kept us all entertained. I
think we would have liked BlackmoresNight to have filled that time
though since the show ended up to be so short.
The bar noise was a little loud and there weren't as many stand
up and dance folks there.
We enjoyed the changes in Fires at Midnight and I Still Remember.
It was good to see the show with everyone healthy again (Candice
was sick in Chicago, but still belting out the songs fabulously)
and good to see Ritchie and Candice having some fun on stage.
Wish we could have followed the whole West Coast tour but. . .
Thanks to the band for coming out west!

I had seen Ritchie a couple times in the past and have always admired
his playing. When I heard he had a new band I was interested to
hear it. Although it was very different than his Deep Purple and
Rainbow stuff, his playing was still fantastic as ever. Candy's
voice was very refreshing as were the songs on their album. I really
wanted to see them live and when I found out they would be in the
Los Angeles area, I had to get tickets.
The concert
was more than I had expected. The opening act really set the mood
for the evening and when Ritchie and Candy took the stage they gave
us, the crowd, a great musical experience. Unless you see them live,
it is hard to really get the feeling from the CD's. It is a night
of fun...which is what a concert is supposed to be, but isn't always
the case. This was just plain fun. I would see them again anytime,
anywhere.

I've attended Blackmore's Night in Los Angeles last week. It was
truly an enjoyable experience -- there was a renaissance magic in
the air. I was hopping for some old Deep Purple tunes, but only
one new rendition of Child In Time was played.
Ritchie is as fiery and artistic as ever, and Ms. Night singes with
so much romance and seduction that one gets easily hypnotized by
her passion.

We are so elated
that you finally graced the West Coast with your magickal presence.
You were all magnificent. I particularly loved the wind instrument
which Candice played to great effect. The violinist rivalled Paganini
and Ritchie seems to be growing younger with each lilting note!
The CD and DVD - the two for only $15 are a true Keepsake. Blackmore's
night MADE my Imbolc**** Please return to enchant us once again.

There
was not a bad seat in the house!
Candice and Ritchie and the rest of your great musicians,
Thanks so much for making it to the West Coast. I was happy to hear
my favorite songs and Candice your voice was beautiful! You also
complimented my wings-THANK YOU!
Ritchie-it was a great pleasure to see you perform. I have to admit
I would love to see you at some point in the future reunite with
Ronnie James. I do not know if that is even possible. This was the
first time I have ever seen you perform live and I have to say I
am bummed I missed your rock tours.
I love Blackmores Night and will anxiously await your next CD. I
am a big fan of your music-it's beautiful and I get lost in another
world when I am listening to it.
Take care and I hope to see you all perform live again and this
time I will bring my 6 and 4 year old children. It seemed quite
nice for kids. My children love your music and my daughter would
just love to see Candice.

Having wanted to see Blackmore's Night for years I was quite happy
to finally get to see them in person. It was an amazing show, full
of energy, fun and humor. There were some technical issues with
an instrument of Richie's at the start of the show and some lucky
fan was the recipient of said instrument but otherwise the show
was simply amazing. Richie's playing was awesome and Candice was
simply beautiful. I've been to several concerts in my life and this
was by far one of the ones I have enjoyed the most. I hope at they
come back to the west coast very soon!

As a lifelong Blackmore fan (Rainbow perhaps more than DP), I thoroughly
enjoyed the Saturday night show. The crowd was somewhat subdued
but it may be because Blackmore's Night is not as well known in
the Western U.S. and several people apparently thought they were
in for a DP/Rainbow greatest hits show. More's the pity. Mr. B.,
your skill is unsurpassed and the setting allowed those who cared
to observe to actually SEE you play. the only complaint I have is
that your soundmen allowed, at several times, for the instrument
you were playing to be overridden by the violin (excellent though
the violinist was). Ms. Night was wonderful not only in her peformance
but in her diplomacy and managed to keep things light when they
could have soured. Finally, a suggestion, if I may, to perhaps help
appease those who want to hear something from your pre-minstrel
catalogue-I think "Catch the Rainbow" would make a wonderful
addition to your set list without straying too far from your chosen
genre. To borrow a term from Ms. Night-I think Blackmorizing that
song with the tremendous ensemble you have would sound fabulous.
Thank you all. A Night to Remember.

Hello
all!
Had an excellent time at the show
There were a few technical gaffs but the playing and singing were
brilliant! Personal highlights for me were Ghost Of A Rose and Candy's
renditon of Diamonds And Rust (Would have loved to heard Ocean Gypsy
also) Other memorable songs included Fires at Midnight, Home Again
&, Renaissance Faire (both very fun!) Under A Violet Moon, and
I Still Remember. The new cover of Deep Purple's Child In Time was
a nice surprise but to me the song went on too long with really
not much changing.A minor quibble....
Ritchie, Candice, and the the rest of the band really seemed to
be enjoying themselves. This was my first time seeing the band live
and didn't know what kind of attitude they would present on stage.I
was pleased to find the group loose and audiance friendly.
All in all, a wonderful time was had by all! I look forward to the
DVD this spring!

FANTASTIC SHOW!!!!!! I have all the albums, but I truly did not

musicianship it has ever been my pleasure to hear. And, the show
was very well paced. I truly enjoyed the show and am looking forward
to seeing many Blackmores Night concerts in the future.

THE JOY
OF SEEING BLACKMORE’S NIGHT AT LONG LAST, AFTER YEARS OF WAITING
BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES.
The west coast is not an easy place to tour.To all of you, sincerest
thanks from all of us, who saw you and those who wanted to and could
not.
I saw BN twice! In Las Vegas and in SF. This was a true Pilgrimage
for me. But that is a mile that goes on forever.
I first heard Deep Purple IN ROCK on a Saturday as a teen-ager.
I had played guitar for some years and I didn’t think it was
possible to play guitar like that, perhaps it’s not unless
you’re Blackmore.
I know where I was exactly the first time I heard every Blackmore
album from that time to this; often I wait till a significant event.
f
Blackmore has been my
prophet, his music expressed pieces of my life, even guidance and
direction sometimes.
The Way to Mandalay.
(Mandalay I had to look up), I heard first Autumn Equinox of 2002.
Her lyrics express my Warrior Priest’s Quest, Blakemore’s
guitar at the end is what my feelings sound like inside. Could I
have been misguided by the Mystics ways?
I had hoped to hear Way to Mandalay, at Mandalay, it seemed so fitting.
It was the Way to Mandalay; at least it was for me. This venue provided
much more comfort to the band; we got longer sets, some Strat guitar.
But it was all so moving. When a musician can move you to weep…There
was a girl next to me, I don’t know her. The opening chords
of Ghost of a Rose (and Soldier of Fortune) inspired me to ask to
hold her hand. We had tears in our eyes at the end, and she thanked
me for holding her hand.
I was in the front row and the power and presence of these minstrels
cannot be described. The adoration of the “gathering”
toward Ritchie and Candice cannot be overstated.
We love them. I love them. I saw Rainbow five times; Deep Purple
(with Ritchie) seven more.
I have loved
Ritchie Blackmore every note I heard.
I love him the more because Candice Night loves him, and I love
her all the more because Blackmore loves her. If you had seen them
up close you would understand that.
SF there were problems with the venue, funny noises that Ritchie
didn’t like. Adjustments needed to be made. But this night
I hold closest. All in Good Company, and humour. We raised our glasses
and we danced in the aisles. Blackmore reached down and squeezed
my hand, someone rows behind said “Man, you touched a god!”
The entire band played wonderfully and the special talents of Ladies
Nancy & Madeline cannot be underestimated. Singing Child in
Time is no small Quest. (My younger daughter was born at home to
Child in Time, the Philharmonic Concert. They played Hanging Tree
this night, “Let’s just you and me play” said
Ritchie At the end of Ghost of a Rose I placed a white rose on the
stage at Ms. Night’ feet and she blew me a kiss. I hope when
she sees a white rose now she will think of me. I love her so…
She squeezed many of our hands good-night. Her purity, her warmth,
her good-natured humor and her talents are a Spell of such…blessing
as to be from within the Blessed Heart of that which is Sacred.
Perhaps this sounds extreme, for someone I don’t know, except
there are those of you who know what I mean…and I do know
them. Ritchie referred to this music as “healing” and
she has said “we are friends they don’t know yet”.
They are family we only know from song. They give a beautiful voice
to our Heart of Hearts, “at least it is for me."

First off I want to thank Candice and Ritchie for coming to California,
and making a dream come true. We were able to go to three shows
starting at home in San Diego, and what a great night, Candice was
so good that night, the single best performance we have ever seen
from a singer, amazing feeling, we knew she was good, and now we
know she is the best. The whole band was great, and gave everyone
such a good feeling, we felt like we were among friends, Ritchie
was great throughout, and the rest of the band were to, Diamonds
and Rust was a highlight as Candice made us all feel like she was
singing to each one of us, we were even treated to a great version
of Smoke on the Water with the slow version to start the song, I
have alway perfered it done this way, it reminds me of the way Rainbow
did it with JLT on vocals, but again Candice out did all other singer`s
to sing this song, a fantastic night. Next we saw the tow show`s
in LA, the first at the Grove was the longest of the three we saw,
and Ritchie was really playing great with the extended guitar part
in Fires at Midnight being one of many highlights, another has to
be the Hurdy Gurdy which was great to watch and hear, we were treated
to an extra encore with Times are Changing, and Dandlion Wine, we
also were treated to the fantasic song Now and Then. The only problem
on this night was the yelling out from the crowd, I really wish
everyone would save the yelling for inbetween songs, and not durning,
so the music can take us away with it. The last night of the tour
was interesting to say the least, a few in the crowd with un-needed
yelling, but credit to Ritchie and Candice to still pull off a great
show of acoustic music. They won over many new fans the were there
for the histroy of Ritchie and did`nt get what they expected, but
fell for this great music Blackmores Night plays, I hope things
went well enough so they can return very soon, thanks for the best
weekend we`ve had in year`s.. Dave Sherrod..

Since I have been a fan of Ritchie's since the first Deep Purple
album in 1968, I have always been a fervent Blackmore loyalist and
devotee of all of his projects. Who knew that I would enjoy Blackmore's
Night Live at least as much as any hard rock show over the years,
and in many ways, this was the best I had seen Ritchie play live
(and certainly the happiest). My wife, Rose and brother Doug joined
me at 4th & B, a smallish concert house hollowed out of an old
bank building smack dab in the city center of San Diego. Having
followed recent setlists from my well-worn copies of "More
Black Than Purple," I had a rough idea of what the set would
hold. "Cartouche" is an excellent opener, with Candice
in high spirits and proving to be an enchanting mistress of ceremonies
for the evening. Ritchie looked great, surely in better shape than
some men half his age, and it was apparent he was having a ball
from the first song onward. Highlights included "Soldier of
Fortune," "Diamonds and Rust," "Morning Star,"
"I Still Remember" and a rousing "Mond Tanz/Child
in Time" featuring the fetching Sisters of the Moon out front
on vocals. We were rewarded with an extended, Strat-rocking encore
that would include "Smoke on the Water" as a nice reward
for an audience of 500 that truly respected and enjoyed the music.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the
rousing San Diego show, my wife Rose and I returned with my other
brother Dan to one of our favorite local concert halls, The Grove.
This is a high-ceiling mini-palace, standing in the shadow of Disneyland
and Angel Stadium, with tiered seating and some folks eating dinner
near the rear. We sat front and center in the fifth row, many Ren-garbed
revellers seated in front of us. Like the San Diego show, "Cartouche"
was a fine opener leading in to "Play Minstrel Play" and
"Under A Violet Moon." Some new songs were thrown into
the mix, such as a playful "Mister Peagram's Morris and Sword"
and, later, "The Clock Ticks On", that were absent from
the San Diego show. This show had a larger audience (1,000+) and
therefore was on a grander scale, but Ritchie was much more playful
with the crowd, handing out brews from the get-go and even some
silver chalices to some lucky fans. He was often on his knees, exhorting
the crowd, and changing the set a bit with an often hilarious teasing
interplay with Candice. Her rendition of "Diamonds and Rust"
was a showstopper, and "Ghost of a Rose" was simply beautiful.
Candice is a star now, no doubt about that. This show's main set
ended after an extended, uplifting performance of "Mond Tanz"/"Child
in Time," with Ritchie surprising the band by motioning them
offstage at the end of the song. Ritchie knows when the high point
is reached, as any good band leader does. My fears of a shortened
show were ill-founded, as the band returned for a nine-song encore
that included some fancy hurdy gurdy in "The Clock Ticks On,"
a slaphappy "All for One" and a soft extended coda of
"The Times They Are A' Changing", "Dandelion WIne"
and "Now and Then." A perfect end to a perfect night.
Many thanks to Ritchie, Candice, Carole and the band for choosing
to tour the West Coast. Please don't be strangers to us all!

Blackmore's Night is superb. We loved every
song, every member of the group is very talented and Blackmore and
Night are really super stars. We will continue to buy cd's and will
go again if ever presented the opportunity.
I would suggest that the group try to do a college tour. I think
with the right publicity, especially on the west coast, it would
be a tremendous success. College campuses generally have very good
facilities with not drinking etc. so I think you would do extremely
well.
My friends and I wish you every success and maybe someday could

(San Diego was limited to 21+), and they had a tremendous time.
All the musicians were superb, Candice's voice was better than on
the records, and Ritchie was mahvelous, simply mahvelous. I think
what I enjoyed the most was that BN is willing to go go back to
the roots of western music -- fun melodies, lilting lyrics, and
true group spirit and enjoyment. Please don't forget us on the West
Coast when the new album comes out -- even if the band can only
make one stop in L.A. or O.C. on the way to Japan, it would be great

It truly was a great pleasure to finally see Ritchie & Candice
perform last Tuesday at The Independent, in S.F. Briefly mentioned
to his bass player and backup vocalists was a great show, afterwards.
The performance was excellent. Candice is very mystical and quite
a magical vocalist/musician. What better guitarist to make a perfect
marriage/harmony of endless incredible melodies...Ritchie Blackmore~
Was happy to purchase two of their cds (Beyond The Sunset &
Past Times With Good Co.) at the show. The live cd is fantastic,
as well as Beyond The Sunset. Love the Bonus dvd and Xmas cd. Emanuel
is an amazing cover, my fav on that Xmas disc.
Best wishes to everyone at the Blackmore's Night campfire~
